PHOTO DIARY | Lisboa Pt 1

So.. a while ago, Joe and I popped to Lisbon for a couple of days for my birthday.

The sun was hot, the food was good, and the wine was cheap. We we're very happy there :)

We booked a beautiful apartment through Airbnb, and spent most of our just time wandering round the maze of streets in Alfalma, the old part of the city.

Our first day we took it pretty easy; the flight had been pretty pain free, but our taxi driver spoke literally ZERO English, so actually getting to the apartment was a bit of a kerfuffle. After all that faff we were pretty happy just to chill out for the afternoon!

On our second day, we visited the Mercado de Ribera to pick up some food for the weekend before heading over to the Castelo de Sao Jorge, an ancient fort perched atop the hill above Alfalma.

The castle itself was nothing special (I think too many family holidays in France has ruined castles for me..), but the views over the city were spectacular. And they had baby peacocks. So that was pretty awesome!

Much Love,
Jess

  1. I love the pink in the first picture! I always run to pink backgrounds to snap a few pictures, they're the best!

How was your stay through AirBnb? I use it a lot for vacation, and haven't had any bad experiences, though I did read about this one in the news where the guy drugged the people staying. It's had me on high alert since!
